Xibalba is the name given by the Mayans to what they believed was the underworld inhabited by twelve gods, the Lords of Xibalba. The Lords presided over six deadly “houses” that presented rigorous tests to Xibalba’s visitors. The Road to Xibalba itself presented many intense challenges to anyone who entered.
Don’t worry, this blog isn’t about death. It isn’t even inspired by a fascination with death. I see the Road to Xibalba as a road to enlightenment – a series of trials that, because of its challenging nature, has the ability to create in someone a faith or belief in what they do.
